Simple Holistic Health Tips
Oil Pulling
Chemical free mouth health with oil pulling
This week I’d like to bring oil pulling into the spotlight. We have all heard that fluoride isn’t something that we should now be using on our teeth, which is very different to when I was young, as we literally went to the Orthodontist to have it coated onto our teeth!
Therefore a lot more people are turning to fluoride free toothpastes and less chemical laden methods of tooth cleaning, as fluoride can sometimes cause adverse effects according to some, like tooth discolouration and bone problems.
This is why Oil Pulling is becoming much more prominent these days, it is an Ancient Ayurvedic Indian practice that is fully natural and helps to pull the bacteria from the gums, teeth and mouth from all of the crevices and into the oil, allowing them to be released.
You can choose from Coconut Oil, Sunflower Oil or Sesame Oil, (Coconut being the preferred choice due its pleasant taste), and it is as simple as taking a tablespoon of the oil and swishing it around your mouth for around 5-20 minutes, allowing it to collect up all the debris so that you can then remove it when you spit out.
Generally it is better especially with coconut oil to spit it into the bin or a tissue as it can clog the drains when it solidifies.
After performing the oil pulling you can then clean your teeth as normal. It is optimal to Oil Pull daily if you can, preferably on an empty stomach in the morning, however you can perform only once to twice a week if you prefer. Consistency of Oil Pulling though will show reduced plaque, whiter teeth and improved oral hygiene.
In my personal experience I find that after having a childhood brace my teeth are pretty close together, so I really dislike flossing, therefore Oil Pulling for me is a much more gentle and pleasant way of removing debris from my teeth.

Navel oil
The amazing benefits delivered to your body by taking Castor Oil via your navel.

Castor Oil – Take a few drops of Castor Oil and drip into your belly button (navel) before you go to bed, either rub it in or drip it in and maybe pop a sticking plaster over the area whilst you sleep, allowing it to absorb into the body via veins and through the thinner skin in that area, this will get to the organs of the body easier. This method helps with so many different things – pain relief, digestive system support, skin care, hair growth promoter, detoxification support, boosting fertility, balancing hormones, joint health and reduction of stress and anxiety and more… reportedly from many users. Personally I found it helped my fibroid pain, maybe worth a try! 🙂

Montheaze Review
Montheaze Product review
Could a Natural Remedy be more effective in Soothing the Symptoms of Periods than OTC Dugs?
Last year when visiting the NEC in Birmingham my husband and I came across a stand that really grabbed my attention, there was quite a queue forming and to be honest the first impression was the loving energy of a family united behind the success of their product. The pride in their labour of love shone through for me and made me stop and take a closer look
The product was Montheaze, which is a natural alternative to medical intervention for period and hormonal problems, and the packaging was very eye catching and stylish looking, but would looks be deceiving, and could it really be an effective remedy for periods? Samples were laid out to try, and I did, it would have been rude not to! I quite liked the spicy taste and so did my husband but he does like his spicy food!

The samples were not in the form of a pill but in fact they were a wrapped cube which you could liken to the appearance of an Oxo cube. We were advised that many Montheaze customers dissolved them into warm water with some honey similar to a herbal tea or simply crunched them up as they are.
The cube contained a combination of turmeric, ground ginger, water, extra virgin olive oil, jaggery, fennel seeds, black pepper, cardamom, cloves, caraway seeds and saffron, and was formed from an old family recipe taken from their Grandmothers family remedies. Montheaze was created after a family member was suffering very badly with menstrual issues that were badly impacting her life, and taking her Grandmothers recipe to aid these symptoms had a very positive outcome for her, reducing painful cramps and other symptoms using only 3 cubes per month and effectively giving back her quality of life. These tasty little cubes are very soothing in the tummy and give a little tingle in the mouth from when I tried them. I personally really enjoyed the flavour and my husband loved them too!
Montheaze benefits include:
-
Easing cramps
-
Regulating hormones
-
Reducing tiredness
-
Immune system support
-
Reduction of nausea and bloating
-
Indigestion relief
-
Boosting energy
-
Possible reduction of menstrual flow

I managed to bring some of these little cubes home with me from the NEC which were kindly gifted to me by Montheaze to try, having 3 daughters that have all suffered at one time or another I decided to test them with them to see if there were any visible benefits.

One of my daughters was 17 and really suffering with very heavy periods that were literally ruining her life, as she was bleeding for a couple of weeks at a time with very bad cramps, also with barely a week going by before she would then have another one. Trips to the Doctor ended up with Tranexamic Acid tablets which had a minimal effect to be honest, trips for scans revealed nothing either. My daughter did take a month or so’s worth of the tablets and managed to notice that her period cramps were a lot less painful and the duration wasn’t as long.
After this I purchased a small amount of packets for my ‘eightlife’ website and stalls to see how they got on…
A lady and her sister so far have tried them for a couple of months with very positive results, one of the women had a brain tumour and her hormones were thrown out by her treatments, coincidence or not she had missed many months of periods and after taking her Montheaze tablets she found that her periods returned, which in my mind indicates that her hormones were becoming more balanced again.
Conclusion
The main point to mention is that not everyone is okay with spicy flavours and therefore it won’t suit everyone, however we could imagine that if you were in significant discomfort this flavour may be a small sacrifice to make. Also there is the possibility of personal allergies to keep in mind.
Out of my 3 daughters one of them in particular just didn’t like them, as she couldn’t stomach the heat, so that needs to be kept in mind.
I feel that there are way too many chemicals out there that are being put into our bodies by almost every way you can think of, medicinal treatments, through the air that we breathe, the products we add to our skin and hair, and the food that we eat, so any possible way that we can reduce these nasties entering our bodies is to me a huge positive. Montheaze is so natural and a great holistic alternative to chemicals and drugs and Gurpreet Kaur the producer of Montheaze has a large amount of positive reviews from women and indeed men, as we all have hormones!
Maybe with the exception of the jaggery, (a natural high quality sugar), all of these natural ingredients are good for you, and will provide a benefit to your body somehow. Turmeric is a well known anti-inflammatory and is good for stabilising sugar levels, as well as reducing the number of heart attacks in those who have had a heart bypass. Black pepper is a powerful antioxidant too, supporting digestion and even supporting brain function, I could go on….
Based on what I found I believe this is a good product with proven results set out in the many testimonials I have read. I would recommend this product and the wonderful family who created it with love

Montheaze is available online from eightlife.co.uk
If you or anyone you know suffer from period or hormonal issues I think that this product may really help you, especially if you are more into natural remedies that are more soothing and gentle on your body, give Montheaze a try if you want your life back naturally too…

Copper Bottles
Holistic Product Review.
Copper Water Bottles
I’ve long advocated copper as a way of keeping your drinking of water hygienic and healthy, well let’s have a look at the pros and cons right now..
I’ve come across quite a few copper bottles in recent years, however I wanted to take a closer look at this ‘Hammered’ style one which has a handy carrying handle and holds a litre of water.

Great Gift
At first sight it looks pretty impressive, a lovely presentation box comes with it with instructions on how to wash the bottle and keep it in tip top shape. It would not only be a lovely thing to use yourself but also great as a gift.
The box explains that the bottle is individually handcrafted in India, and explains that a wash before use is a good idea to remove any crafter manufacturing debris before using. You can wash with lemon/lime juice and salt in hot water which is filled up to half way. After 15 -20 minutes give it a good shake and then rinse out the water inside for about 2-3 times.

Cleaning Copper Bottles
It is recommended to wash the bottle about once a week and then dry off with a soft cloth, and that no chemical cleaners are used as this can damage the colouring of the bottle, equally avoid the use of abrasive scrubbers to stop scratching occurring, and do not put in the dishwasher. It all sounds good to me!
It is also interesting to know that the copper kills bacteria and viruses on contact, unlike the more popular plastic variety which can go very manky on occasions.
So, the bottle is a really good little health aid, it only carries water, not juice or smoothies etc, and to get the optimum good benefits from it you can fill before going to bed, preferably with filtered or spring water and then leave overnight to infuse, easy! Then drink the next day.

Taste and Amount
I tried this to the letter and found that the water has a pleasant enough taste to it and is pretty drinkable. You can definitely taste the copper, and as long as you don’t leave the same lot in there for ages it doesn’t get too strong. In terms of quantity to drink it is established that no more than 2 litres is great, as you don’t want to overdo the copper.
I used the bottle when performing my Reiki sessions and found that it was a very good source of cleansing, as you can sometimes taste the chemicals in plain tap water.
However, I also did leave the water for too long on one occasion, a couple of weeks, and the bottle had a darkish green colour embossing the inside of it! As it turned out this was not a problem, I simply followed the steps on the box to clean it, but for a little longer, and all of the green just poured out with the water after soaking in the lemon and salt mix. The only thing I would say is that occasionally when you open the bottle it will squeak a bit and have trouble when twisting, the solution to this is to pour a little bit of olive oil onto your fingers or at the top of the bottle and rub around to lubricate the thread, bingo!
Conclusion
ENERGY AND SKIN IMPROVEMENT – Over time, around a month, I definitely noticed that I had more energy and my skin looked refreshed and hydrated, to me this is a success, as if I can do the lazy method and just drink water as a skin care routine then that suits me 🙂
It was a portable, unique and attractive way to get healthy water down me which I loved.
I love the Copper Water Bottle! It is attractive, healthy and easy to look after, a definite must have for me 😉
Copper bottles, I have purchased this type of bottle and found it to be a good option.
This set is for a couple which is excellent value and the handy carrying cases in my opinion make it a winner, as it avoids you carrying a full bottle about and avoids damage.
